Introduction

It took about 5 months to complete this 1/32 F-14D aircraft. I built the VF-213 Black Lions NF101 "Lion Head" in February 2001. I compromised on two points, namely I modified only one of the four faces of the vertical fin. Also, the paint was too dark to see the number on the decals so I used different decals for that Bureau numbers.

The main challenges were scribing all panel lines, putting rivet marks, converting to the F-14D from F-14A( modifying cockpit and engines), scratch-building flaps and slats, and scratch-building the air-inlets. I also focused on the weathering by studying the real thing...
