This model depicts a Marine TBF-1 Avenger stationed on Munda in December of 1943. The National Insignias have yet to be updated according to the change made on June 29, 1943 to the star and bar.

The crew of this TBF-1 has painted "guns" on the leading edge of the wings in an effort to convince the enemy that the Avenger was armed with six machine guns.

This model was finished with Model Master Paints, kit decals and homemade stencils.
