After two and a half years of planning and three months of actuall building the ship is just about complete. As you can see in the photos the deck is done along with the tower. There are several more steps to complete but over all, the Enterprise is almost finished.

The twin and quad 40mm bofors as well as the 5"38 guns will be on by the next posting. I have them and they're done just not on the ship yet. These were purchased from H&R products. Anyone needing help aquiring these items for your 1/144 scale model can contact me.

The deck was done using 1/2 inch strips of 1/16 inch balsa wood. After that I scored lines in the strips to give the pieces a realistic look for planking. The strips were then hand stained with a mahogany finish. You can see the deck is still brown in some of the pictures. After the deck was done I airbrushed the whole thing with Weathered Deck Blue from Polly Scale.

The tower was done as a seperate model in a way. I still have to put the radar and a few other parts on it but it too is almost done thanks to Tom's Modelworks. T'sMW did a fantastic job getting my brass fittings to me in a hurry. I now have the water tight doors and the PE radar, so this shoud be done very soon.
