Building Figures. In this diorama, I used 10 figures including 2 pilots. Those are 5 PWMP, 4 Tamiya and 1 Academy. Build the Signal men first, I think these 2 are not so popular though. Their role is to confirm the safety and signal to the Shooter.
I chose this pose.

The right one came from Tomcat box. The others came from LVTP, Tamiya's tank kit. The upper body pose is exactly same as this signal man's pose.
This is Tamiyat figure. I cut arms and legs. Re-touch right leg to different angle. Put plastic liner as left thigh bone. Put under knee junk parts on it.
Re-touch both arms in different angles.
Just modify legs for LVTP figure.
Put putty on the liner. Remove unwanted lines from the vest. Put the CMK resin head on it.
Big thumbs accent his role.

Glue thin plastics for the fluorescent strips. Bags came from PWMP resin kit.
These 5 figures are PWMP resin kit. Each figure has his own reason why it's there. The most left side figure is waiting for next F-18 departure with the Hold bar. It had a Wheel chock in the kit. The far right side figure is the supervisor of novice shooter. Middle two men are talking about XXX. The green one has just finished his catapult work. The red one finished weapon check. I switched arms of green one with other figure.
I am still confused about the position of the shooter. In some NAVY photos, he seems to stand under the wing with 2 green catapult staff whom I did not build in this diorama
I used a shooter from Academy F/A-18C kit. I stretched the left arm straight with heating by candle. Also I added a scratch built radio.
The lead line on radio is made from lead line. I formed the coiled line by rolling it around thin wire.
Make microphone with copper lines and styrene board. Signal men were detailed up like this.
