Building the catapult

Put Evergreen's plain board and strips together.
Scribe lines and make holes with pin vise. For painting, after spraying primer, spray mixed Alclad Steel and Copper. Wash with enamel black and then dry-brush with gray.
Catapult shuttle
Scratch and build catapult shuttle with Evergreen's plastics.
Cut the hook off from the struts and paint it. After placing the shuttle under the struts, position the hook and glue it to the struts.

Adjust the height of the shuttle to fit under the struts.

Adjust the length of the Hold bar which holds the aircraft until the force pulls it away. I did not glue it to the struts. I made holes on both side, then stuck metal wire to hold.
It seems there are 2 versions which are painted either green or red.
Black Hold bar if for F-14
Yellow Hold bar is for F-18
The shuttle and Hold bar are replaceable.
Real stuff
Building Tractor
PWMP's resin kit is a state of the art product. I did not modify anything except top skin.
Remove oil by washing with dish soap. Spray resin primer. Spray Mr. Color white. Paint black and red with acrylics. For top coat, Paint thinned Tamiya's regular putty as tapping with brush.
The decals are also very good quality.
Paint German Gray for chipping. Finally spray flat overcoat.
