Spray gray primer. Don't forget to mask the frame.
Spray dark gray first. I forgot the ratio, but I mixed several Mr. Color paints to resemble the color of Tamiya XF-24. I believe using acrylics on the polyester putty is not good for wash.
This photo shows masking for the white lines after the gray sprayed.

To save masking tape, I put the paper in between.

After weathering
It's same as the wash technique. Thin Tamiya enamel black to 1:10. Wash the deck with big brush, and then rub away excess enamel with gauze soaked in the enamel thinner. Draw a pattern with that gauze.

The real one is very dirty like this.

This is the center line for the landing. You might feel it's too dirty, but please compare with the following photo.
I drew this pattern with tied 3 cotton swabs.
Center line.
Wash JDB bay.

Remove excess enamel with cotton swab. It's very natural look, isn't it!
